I've tried oil painting, but my mountain scene ended up looking like a brown blob hanging from the ocean at the bottom of the earth.
I enjoy music, and played the alto sax all through high school and the first couple of years in college. That's easy though when you're just following the notes on the page. When I was first chair in jazz band, I was miserable at improvisation. Too much creativity required for that.
I've tried knitting and cross-stitching. The cross-stitching works out because you're just following a pattern. I suppose knitting is the same way, but I still couldn't manage it. Shhh, don't tell anyone about this last paragraph. Or, just don't ever mention it to me. :)
I've tried photography a lot. I bought a really nice SLR camera when I was college. I took a lot of pictures out in the mountains of New Mexico with that camera, and they were decent. I ended up selling the camera at some point to make a little money. Our camera now is just a normal digital, not a digital SLR. It has some neat features and can take nice pictures though. Here's my latest attempt at some artistic photography.
I've attached just one picture here. If you click on it, you can see the others that I took.
