Elizabeth twisted my arm enough to convince me to watch Anne of Green Gables with her. We borrowed the first two movies from Andrea. I finally gave in and we watched both of them. We had to spread it out over a few days since each movie is about three hours long. I have to admit, I absolutely loved both movies. Anne Shirley really made an impression on me. There are two great lessons I took away from the movie. There were lots of others intertwined, but these are the ones that hit me the hardest. The first is that we should really be happy with what we've got. The second is that there is good in everyone, and we should always try to find it and bring it out.
If you haven't seen the movies I would highly recommend it. We will definitely be buying them and our kids will grow up watching them.
I read the reviews for the third movie on Amazon. They were really, really bad, so we don't plan to watch it. If anyone has seen it an thinks its worth it, let us know!

I'm so glad you loved them! Here's the thing about the third installment of Anne of Green Gables. They do bring back most of the old characters which is fun to see. But the plot is all about war and Gilbert lost at war and Green Gables burning and people dying and things blowing up and babies orphaned and reporters flirting with Anne. I watch Anne of Green Gables because it is so soothing. The Continuing Story is just stress.
I love these movies too! I haven't seen them since high school, but I remember them well. We had to read Anne of Green Gables and had many tests and quizes about the story, but our treat was to be able to watch the movies after we were done with the book. Well brother since you have misplaced your man card somewhere, might I suggest Little Women? The one with Kristen Dunst, Susan Surandon(sp?), and Winona Ryder. I could watch this movie over and over again. I checked on Amazon and they gave it four and a half stars. I know Liz will love it! :-D
I have Little Women if you want to borrow it - the June Allyson version and the Winona Ryder version. So Adam, now it's time for you to read the Anne of Green Gables books!
